Historical Textile Dye Analysis Using DESI-MS

چکیده
Desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (DESI-MS) is an ambient technique that shows great potential for the analysis of fragile heritage objects in situ. This article focuses on application a recently built DESI source to characterize natural dyestuffs historical textiles and presentation initial imaging experiments. Optimization instrumental settings, geometrical parameters, solvent system DESI-MS was conducted rhodamine B samples. Some variables, including increased flow rate, narrower range optimized variables without additives, were applicable both early synthetic dyes. Direct dye turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) could be reliably analyzed silk wool, as anthraquinone standards mordanting. These preliminary results suggest process (direct, mordant, vat) has large impact efficiency DESI-MS. Imaging trials highlighted suitability patterned are difficult sample, such calico fabrics, or other currently inaccessible objects.

Direct Analysis of Pharmaceutical Drugs Using Nano-DESI MS
Counterfeit pharmaceutical drugs imply an increasing threat to the global public health. It is necessary to have systems to control the products that reach the market and to detect falsified medicines. In this work, molecules in several pharmaceutical tablets were directly analyzed using nanospray desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (nano-DESI MS). Nano-DESI is an ambient surfa...
متن کاملDigital 3d Analysis of Historical Textile Fragment
This paper presents and explores 3D techniques for analyzing historic textile fragment. The textile fragment piece examined throughout this paper originates from the English National Trust archive held in the collection at Claydon House. The aim is to utilize data collected with a combination of both 2D pattern software and state-of-the-art 3D technology to both recreate and reconstruct a compe...
متن کاملMutagenicity of textile dye products.
Within an EU-funded research project, 281 textile dye products in use at nine textile finishing companies from eight European countries were assessed for potential mutagenic properties. Most of the dyes belonged to the so-called existing substances. Data sources considered were data published in the literature, unpublished industrial data provided by dye producing companies, and laboratory test...
متن کاملToxicity Assessment of Textile Dye Wastewater Using Swiss Albino Rats
Haematological and serum biochemical studies on Swiss albino rats were carried out for a period of 15 days to investigate the effects of untreated (Infl uent) and treated (Effl uent) textile dye wastewaters collected from an Effl uent Treatment Plant in Sanganer, Jaipur, India. In comparison to control animals (potable water), values of RBC, WBC, Hb, PCV and MCHC decreased signifi cantly in was...
متن کاملBiodegradation and decolourization of textile dye wastewater using Ganoderma lucidum
In this work, treatment of textile dye wastewater was carried in a batch reactor using Ganoderma lucidum. The characteristics of textile dye wastewater were studied. The effect of process parameters like pH, temperature, agitation speed and dye wastewater concentration on dye decolourization and degradation were studied. These parameters were optimized using response surface methodology (RSM). ...
